PSO-Certification at Evers-Druck
The Process Standard Offset (PSO) has been developed in partnership with the FOGRA/UGRA and the associations of the print and media industry in Germany.
ISO Standard 12647-2 defines the target values and tolerances that represent the reasonable and feasible in the printing process. These values can be measured with absolute precision.
Evers-Druck customers reap the following benefits:
- Precise color production based on a defined standard
- Consistent and measurable high printing quality across the entire production batch
- Results can be reproduced perfectly (re-printing process)
- No time consuming color adjustments have to be made on the machine
- Absolute predictability of the color quality of the printed product
PSO begins in the pre-press phase
During the pre-press phase, PSO refers to the color settings in image editing and layout programs.
The proper handling and use of ICC profiles, compliance with the important data parameters and the creation of PDF/X1a and PDF/X3 files are equally important processes.
All output devices, screens and proofing devices have to be calibrated in compliance with Media Standard Print 2006.
Proofs have to be generated for different types of paper, such as ISO coated or ISO uncoated.
The proof must be labeled with a control check sheet containing the name of the file, the creation date, the color profiles used and the measuring results.
The FOGRA media key CMYK must be imprinted on the proof.
